Statistical analysis of inundation model boundary conditions

Statistical analysis of inundation model boundary conditions

Leads: Pravin Maduwantha, Amirhosein Begmohammadi
Counselors: Ning Lin, Thomas Wahl

To develop one or more joint probability methods (JPMs) to select a small set of storms from the full storm sets to drive the local flood analysis; probabilities are assigned to the storms in the small set based on flood drivers (regional flood level or storm surge and rainfall + sea level rise) and used to inform probabilities of the local flood levels. The JPMs will be evaluated with full Monte Carlo simulations and compared with other statistical storm selection methods.
