Sea Level Rise Variability

Sea-level rise variability in the MACH region

Lead: William Coronel
Counselors: Sonke Dangendorf, Bob Kopp

To characterize the factors that drive sea-level rise change and variability in the MACH region, with a focus on (1) improving characterization of vertical land motion across the region and (2) characterizing sub-tidal epoch variability and identifying the climate factors driving river flux and sterodynamic contributions to this variability, in order to (1) integrate interannual sea-level variability into flood hazard predictions and projections, (2) improve prediction of sea-level rise on a sub-20-year timescale, and (3) improve estimates of the lead-time for distinguishing between sea-level scenarios in the context of DAPPs.
