Nor'Easter Modeling

MACH PhD candidate, Diana Apoznanski, is focusing her research on understanding how nor’easters, also referred to as extra-tropical cyclones, may be changing due to impacts from climate change, as they are the primary source of storm driven flooding in the northeast US. In particular, she is researching the paths and the intensity of wind, snow, or rain during the storms. To do this, she is sorting nor’easters out of climate model outputs and comparing their characteristics between past, present, and future climate scenarios.
