The purpose of this project is to understand the tail flood hazard associated with ETCs, and also learn about projected changes in ETC meteorology. Similarly to the TC group, we want to understand how ETCs change due to climate change, including storm track and precipitation characteristics (e.g., intensity, snow vs. rain). ETCs will be identified in GCM output. GCM generated ETC meteorology data will then be fed into storm surge modeling (by large-scale flood modeling team)  to find flood projections, and extreme value analysis will follow.  The handoff to regional scale TC/ETC modeling will be the GCM output meteorology data for tail distribution ETCs.
