Flood Insurance Claims Treatment
Lead: Karina French
Counselor: Carolyn Kousky
This project, led by Karina French, examines how flood insurance claims get processed in different neighborhoods across the country. French is specifically reviewing how long it takes for people to receive their insurance payments after a flood, and whether those payments actually cover the damage they experienced. The goal of this research is to understand whether these outcomes vary based on factors like income or other socioeconomic characteristics. While most of the data analysis is nationwide, case studies may highlight examples from neighborhoods in the MACH region to show how these issues affect communities locally.
