Extratropical Cyclone Modeling

Lead: Diana Apoznanski
Counselors: Anthony Broccoli, Bob Kopp

MACH PhD student, Diana Apoznanski, is focusing her research on understanding how Extra-Tropical Cyclones, commonly referred to as Nor’Easters, may be changing due to impacts from climate change, particularly the paths of the storms and the intensity of wind, snow, or rain during the storms. She is doing this by sorting nor’easters out of climate model outputs and comparing their characteristics between past, present, and future climate scenarios.
