Research Updates: Since the last news update, the Household Decision Making focus area, responsible for conducting interviews to understand residents’ perceptions of climate change, has progressed with interview-related work and published a paper with another under review. Specifically, the team:

  • Began to process Philadelphia interview data.
  • Began recruiting and interviewing Manville, NJ, residents with whom they formed connections at various community events and tabling sessions.
  • Drafted and submitted a paper for publication in Scientific Reports based on lessons learned from research methods applied in Philadelphia (this paper was co-authored with a local mutual aid group, Homies Helping Homes).
  • Is conducting a literature review on the concept of societal transformation in the context of climate change, drafting a commentary on conceptualizations of equity in climate services for Nature-Climate Change, and an article on issues with indicators and co-location of community services destined for Population and Environment.
  • Presented at conferences in Seattle and DC.
